Caucus Review
In case you missed it
Hi DAWGs, we had such a great Caucus meeting last week and quickly realized that this information needed to be sent out to the wider network. See below for a breakdown of what Caucus is, how you can participate and why it’s so important. And we can’t wait to see who wins Caucus bingo! 😝
Hi DAWG’s
Thank you to everyone who joined us for our conversation about how to participate in the Democratic caucus and assembly process.
If everyone who attended our meeting goes to caucus, it would send shock waves through the process and would help advance progressive candidates who are ready to stand up for working people and challenge the “politics as usual” mindset.
Here’s what we covered:
What caucus is and why it matters
What happens during a caucus meeting and the county and state assemblies
How to find your local caucus
Tips and tricks to feel prepared walking into caucus
How your participation shapes local leadership
If you want dive deeper, you can watch the full webinar here:
If you want to review the slides, we’ve shared them here

Every county does things a little bit differently, which makes this whole thing more complicated. But the best advice we can give you is to reach out to your local party if you have questions about participation. Here are links to all of the counties.

What’s next
This is just the tip of the iceberg, but we implore you to dive deeper. You can also join us in the DAWG Discord Politics channel to connect with others, coordinate plans to attend together, share candidates you’re excited about, and make the experience more fun (Caucus Bingo included!).
On a personal note, thank you all for being a part of this. The caucus system is designed to be confusing and intimidating. Our goal is to change that and make you feel empowered, informed, and like you belong in these spaces. The energy, enthusiasm, and hope you all brought (alongside the passion of our candidate guests) lifted our spirits during a heavy time. I hope it did the same for you.
“Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world. Indeed, it’s the only thing that ever has.” -Maragret Mead
See you at caucus,
